Cookie Policy

This explains what cookies The Filter uses, why, and how you can control them. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.

Last updated: 21 August 2026

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They let a site remember your preferences, keep you signed in, and support core site functions.

We keep our use of cookies deliberately minimal. The Filter does not use Google Analytics or any advertising or tracking cookies.

We group cookies into the four categories below. Currently, only Essential and Functional cookies are set on this site.

Essential

Required for the site to work and to keep it secure. These don't require consent, since the site can't function properly without them.

Functional

Support interactive features — quizzes, self-checks, and gamified progress (points, badges, streaks). They don't track you across other sites and aren't used for advertising.

Exact cookie names and durations can vary slightly with plugin updates; this table reflects our current configuration.

Analytics

We use Plausible Analytics to understand, in aggregate, how visitors use the site — such as which pages are most read and how traffic reaches the site over time. Plausible is designed to operate without cookies and without collecting personal data: it doesn't identify you individually, and it doesn't track you across visits or other sites. Plausible is EU-hosted, per Plausible's data policy. Because no cookie is set and no personal data is collected, consent is generally not required for this under ePrivacy rules — we describe it here for transparency regardless.

Marketing / advertising

We don't use marketing, advertising, or retargeting cookies of any kind. If this changes in future, we'll update this policy and request your consent before any such cookie is set.

CookieYes itself processes limited data (your consent record) on our behalf as part of providing the consent banner; see CookieYes's privacy policy for how they handle this.

When you first visit The Filter, a consent banner (powered by CookieYes) lets you review and manage cookie preferences. You can change your mind at any time via the "Cookie Settings" link in the site footer.

You can also control or delete cookies through your browser's own settings. Doing so may affect how parts of the site work, such as staying logged in.

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time, for example as we add new tools or features to the site. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.

Questions about this Cookie Policy or your data can be sent to info@thefilter.club.
